Biking In Our Area
The Susquehanna River Walk is an approximately 4 mile paved bikeway/walkway loop along the levee system in Williamsport, South Williamsport and Loyalsock Township. Timber trail amenities include interpretative signage, benches and a sculpture showcasing the region’s rich timbering history. The River Walk links with the Loyalsock Bikeway at Commerce Park Drive making it easy to extend your run, walk or bike ride another few miles. The Central Mountains Trail System is a group of interconnected trails, totaling 120 miles in length. The system provides trails of varying lengths and difficulty.
Pennsylvania Rail Trails are former railway lines that have been converted to paths designed for pedestrian, bicycle, skating, equestrian, and/or light motorized traffic. Rail trails are multi-use paths offering at least pedestrians and cyclists recreational access to the routes.
Pennsylvania contains a total of 93 different rail trails. The trails cover a total of 1063 miles (1710 km) and an additional 635 miles (1021 km) have been proposed.
Come and enjoy the Pine Creek Trail, which is one of the most outstanding tourist and outdoor destinations in the northeastern United States. This trail is more than sixty miles long and follows a former Conrail track, through mostly roadless areas at the bottom of Pine Creek Gorge/PA Grand Canyon. This trail offers breathtaking scenery. Whether you want a leisurely bike ride or full tilt mountain biking experience, northeast Pennsylvania offers a wide range of trails and scenery for everyone.
